An unused Japanese obijime cord, carefully hand-braided from silk in the traditional Korai-gumi style.

The rich vermilion red is paired with a broad metallic-gold section decorated with red circular geometric motifs. The reverse is a refined solid vermilion, allowing the appearance to change according to how the cord is tied and which side is shown.

Ideal for styling with formal kimono such as furisode and homongi. The silk kumihimo cord may also be repurposed for belts, accessories, decorative straps, or handles and accents for handmade bags.

If used in bag making, please select suitable hardware and reinforcement for the intended load and use your own judgment when constructing the item. This is not a finished weight-bearing bag strap.
