A striking Japanese obijime cord, traditionally used to secure and decorate an obi sash. This piece is hand-braided in the structured Korai-gumi style using fine silk, with a vivid red base, a silver-gray-to-white gradient, and geometric accents in red and gold.
The two sides offer different looks: the patterned face creates an ornate statement, while the reverse shows rich red and gold braided sections. It is an elegant accessory for furisode, homongi, and other formal kimono ensembles.
Beyond traditional styling, this silk cord can also be repurposed for creative projects such as a decorative belt, jewelry, textile art, or material for a handmade bag handle or ornamental strap.
