An elegant Japanese obijime cord, hand-braided in the traditional Korai-gumi style from pure silk.

The vivid spring green ground is accented with metallic gold edging and decorative geometric motifs. The reverse displays a broad gold section bordered in green, giving the cord a richly contrasting appearance from either side.

Traditionally worn over an obi to secure and complete a kimono ensemble, this flat silk braid may also be used creatively as material for a decorative belt, accessory, costume detail, bag handle or ornamental strap.
