An elegant Japanese obijime cord, carefully hand-braided from silk using the traditional Korai-gumi technique.

The design features a vivid vermilion-red base accented with diagonal geometric motifs in pale green and gold. The reverse side is predominantly vermilion, allowing the cord to show different expressions depending on how it is tied or displayed.

Traditionally worn over an obi to complete a kimono ensemble, this silk cord may also be repurposed for belts, accessories, jewelry, textile art, or as material for handmade bag handles and decorative straps.

Please note: If used for a bag, select suitable hardware and reinforcement according to the intended load. This item is not a finished, load-tested bag strap.
